Saranac Lake is one of a series of late spring paintings I worked on during a two week stay in the Adirondacks.  This piece was done on site during a mid morning squall over the lake. The wind suddenly howled and brought torrents of rain nearly wrecking my Plein Air setup. In minutes the storm was over and we came out from under a tarp and finished the work. Some of that silvery but turbulent  twenty minutes is still with me when I look at this.
