Provençal Lavender is a newish oil painted from many on site sketches and memory from a magical summer spent in around Aix-en-Provence. I had a grant to study Art History and painting, and every afternoon after the history class we painted in the fields and small villages around the city. The lavender was in full bloom and the warm air was filled with its scent. It is a sight and an experience that I will never forget.
