This oil was painted en plein air in the flower garden near my garage studio that I have created over the last forty years. Some plants are gifts from friends, some are slips from flowers my mother and grandmother planted in other parts of the yard. Over the years I have moved a few of those to my newer sunnier spot. I love this garden because of its link to my family and friends but also because the work it requires has helped as much as painting to sustain me over the decades.
