- Victorian house known as "Rose Hill" was built in 1855 on Plank Road (today William Street) in Fredericksburg, named for the multitude of roses grown on the lot where St. Mary Catholic Church now stands. Originally situated on 120 acres, the house witnessed the violence and continued presence of soldiers during the War Between the States and now its once spacious fields have become the tranquil residential neighborhood of College Heights.
