Mobjack Bay Regatta

Artist Barbara Brennan,

Mobjack Bay Regatta
 Oil on Canvas, 18x24

Whenever I go to antique stores or thrift shops, I head straight for the boxes of old postcards. There are always treasures to be found with the vibrant pastel colors popular in the 1920s and 30s. During the COVID isolation I finished a series of 14 paintings inspired by my collection of vintage Washington, DC, monument postcards. This piece is one of a series of

12 oil and pastel paintings that reflect a new direction for me, still inspired by vintage postcards, but focused now on sailing scenes.
