Midsummer Bouquet was painted in our kitchen. My sister stands in the far doorway with an old vase of freshly cut flowers from the garden, which includes a favorite from childhood, hollyhocks. I purposely placed the figure far back in space and pulled the flowers close to me into foreground. I was interested in pushing both composition and color in this oil. Framed it is 20” v 20”.
