In the early afternoon, with the morning work and lunch behind her, my sister Betsy often sits down to read the daily paper and maybe take a snooze. This is a typical summer afternoon on our screened side porch. I often paint here in summer. Our usual companions are Jack, my Standard Schnauzer and Chili, Betsy’s Norfolk Terrier.
