The Return of Raku, Saturday, December 12

Daniel Christie’s Raku pottery demonstration on Nov 7 was well received. We are pleased to announce that Daniel will be returning for another demonstration on Saturday, December 12 (weather permitting). It will take place from 11am to 3 pm.

Note that the pots evolve during the session. Raku pottery entails removing glowing hot pottery for a crash cooling cycle that creates the distinct surface. It is an exciting step in the process. And, Daniel has volunteered to bring the marshmallows. He hates to waste a hot kiln. Hope for weather on the mild side, for December 12.

Daniel’s event coincides with the holiday art sale being staged along Taylor St (Colonial Beach) by the Artists’ Alliance in conjunction with the Colonial Beach Artists’ Guild, for the first 2 weekends in December (Dec 4-6, and 11-13). The hours are 11-4 each day. Support your local artists.
