Artists’ Statement
Having been born and raised in the beautiful, tropical country of Panama I developed a very deep appreciation and love of nature, which continues to inspire my art work. I never cease to be inspired by the natural world around me. I may be driving somewhere on an early morning errand when I come upon a breathtaking sunrise. I find myself compelled to park the car and capture the moment with my cellphone camera. It might be the way the sunlight caresses the trees and fields that moves me; or the evening light as it plays on the ripples at Monroe Bay. I truly understand how the French Impressionists became obsessed with light, water and atmospheric changes in their surroundings. Their art preserves those fleeting moments of time for all of us to see.
