Even though I have tried almost every art form, I did not start painting on canvas and paper until I moved to Mexico. There I discovered Javier Ramos – an amazing teacher who I continue to study with each time I return there. When I returned to the US, I traveled far and wide to continue my studies with teachers such as Karlyn Holman, Gerald Brommer, Don Andrews, Tom Lynch, David Kessler, Betsy Kellum, Sheryl Williams, Pat Troiani, and many others. I still study as much as possible, albeit almost always online at this time.

Most recently I was introduced to painting with cold wax and oil paints which was my first earnest venture into abstraction and impressionism. To hone my skills in abstraction, I continue to study with David Kessler which I try to translate in my work in Oil and Cold Wax Medium (CWM) as well as acrylics
I also work in pastels and have just started drawing with colored pencils and silverpoint. I consider myself to be an evolving multi-media artist who is always pushing the envelope to try new techniques while searching for my niche. I also teach basic classes painting with alcohol inks.
My work has been shown in Maryland and Virginia and has won many honors from Best in Show to Honorable Mention.
My most recent adventure has been working with Connie Canby and Celeste Johnston to establish NNArts which will provide classes, workshops, and many special events in this area.
