ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I have had a life-long fascination with geometric shapes and forms and things that balance and I use them a lot in my artwork. I like the way that they pay off each other and create positive and negative spaces. In recent years I've done many pieces that move in the wind or by touch. My work ranges in size from table-top to yard-size outdoor pieces. I like to make art that pushes the materials they are made from to the limmits. Steel is my material of choice because of the ease and availability. Most of my work, but not all, is non-representational in nature with a touch of whimsy thrown in sometimes just for fun.
Born in D. C. in 1949 and a lifelong resident of the Metro area and Southern Maryland, where I reside in La Plata, I served in the Navy from 1968 to 1972 and am a Vietnam Veteran. I began sculpting in 1970.
My work appeared in a number of shows and galleries and was featured in a documentary short for the Voice of America.
