ARTIST'S  STATEMENT

Unexpected turns along the journey of life can bring delight!  After creative careers as a high school teacher, florist, and wedding coordinator, I finally followed the long-ago, but not forgotten, advice of a college art professor to explore painting.

Encouraged by teachers Johnny Johnson, in Fredericksburg, and Janet Welsh of Pennsylvania, I explore the magic of watercolor painting. Using gentle, yet vivacious colors, I often focus on flowers and scenes of Fredericksburg, Stafford and the Northern Neck.

If asked why I paint, I answer quickly and truthfully, "I love to paint."
